Vancouver's Road Pricing Proposal a Revolutionary??? Fix??? for Gridlock. Not.

Perhaps it was the neutered, sexless, title, “Regional Transportation Investments: A Vision for Metro Vancouver.” Or, just perhaps British Columbia, Canadians the citizens of Vancouver are just tired of the selectively handicapped comprehension/hearing, understanding ability of the Government, LEADERS??? MAYORS COUNCILS, politicians OF BRITISH COLUMBIA.
Just perhaps-as it well should, it just seemed like another of those big-spending wish lists city politicians are in the habit of producing and wasting money on-never caring or choosing to remember that they are using taxpayer money; choosing to overlook the fact that they are not owners; but mere administrators , never having even made an attempt at producing a feasible workable budget: yet wish listing a light rail line here, some buses and bike paths there, and BY THE WAY, COULD SOMEONE ELSE PLEASE PAY FOR IT?
It is that, in part: $7.5-billion in new capital spending, plus another $2-billion in annual operating costs, with the other two levels of government taxpayers; on a municipal, provincial, and federal level asked to pick up more than half all of the tab. But within its 38 pages are the seeds of a revolution —for the scheme could and would not fix the congestion in the country’s most congested city???, and over the longer term will lead to profound changes in how Vancouverites get about, even where they live; and their ability to get out of the region-at all-ever.
According to the political jackasses; there are many details still to be worked out, and some daunting political obstacles to be overcome, but, if the mayors can pull this off it will give Vancouver the status of becoming an unenviable model for the rest of the world. Yes, it’s that big.
Do not forget; this Mayors’ Council, this very same group of Vancouver-area mayors, were just recently turned down in a referendum vote; on any increased taxes, were at the losing end of a non-confidence vote; and were, in all justice; then required to submit their resignations.

The NEW plan??? Highly illegal, but, this time; the “mayors”??? refer to it as “comprehensive mobility pricing.” It is never quite spelled out what this means, I doubt very much that these jack asses could do so; but it’s clear this would go far beyond putting ANOTHER ILEGAL TAS/TOLL on the odd bridge or highway, of a kind the region’s SHEEP (definitely from Toyo Tire) have grown used to — a piecemeal approach that has simply shifted the burden of congestion, rather than reduced it. Instead, the mayors appear to favour a system that would see drivers, pay to use the entire road network, much as like British Columbia Hydro Customers or other consumers now pay to use their cellphones, with different charges applying at different times or on different roads. A scheme designed to further prevent seniors, those on “fixed” or low incomes from traveling –at all.  A scheme to steal ever more from the Canadian Public; a scheme to offer more padding to these politicians rear pockets and better cover their asses—should the citizen/taxpayer; somehow, find THE NUTS.~~Al (Alex-Alexander) D.
