Vancouver was found to tip only 62 per cent of the time,
with an average tip of 13.4 per cent of
the bill, far behind Canada's most generous tipsters in Ottawa, who tipped
76.6 per cent of time with an average tip of 15.6 per cent.
Are you, as many greedy bars, fast food establishments, internationally
owned hotels, night entertainment centres who would rather you pay staff wages,
rather than them having to do so, a (so far as such establishments are concerned) a terrific tipper (One who enjoys paying salaries for all management and/or employees working in businesses you do not own)or a stingy money pinching, so-and-so?
A new survey has revealed how much, and how often, we leave restaurant staff for their service. Figures suggest the average tip in addition to the bill is nine per cent.

Although, obviously
due to mass brainwashing by United States of the Americas and a few other International
corporations 87 per cent of adults nowadays always leave a gratuity tip (UK
English-an amount of money given as a reward for EXCEPTIONAL service.) 17
per cent of men never leave a gratuity compared to 10 per cent of women. The
survey, which involved 2,000 adults, was released by restaurant booking service Open Table.
No one, except of
course United States of the Americas based and a few other “greedy
International Corporations has a clue why Square, the leading mobile payments
company based in San Francisco, released the following data of how Canadian's
tip.
Ottawans tip 76.7 per cent of the time with an average tip
of 15.6 per cent. Neck and neck for second place were Montreal and Toronto, who
tip an average of 14.4 and 14.5 per cent on their bills, respectively.
Montreallers tip more often than Torontonians at 70.4 per
cent vs. 65.5 per cent.
Calgary comes in fourth place, tipping an average of 13.3
per cent, but only 59.4 per cent of Calgarians left a tip when they had the
opportunity.
Bringing up the rear of the list, Vancouver came in with an
average tipping amount of 13.4 per cent with 62 per cent of transactions being
tipped.
Square's digital tipping options
makes tipping easy for customers paying at Square businesses. Approximately 45
to 50 per cent of all transactions on Square's system involve a tip.
