French and Scottish Canadians gave birth to the tales of Paul Bunion,
during the Papineau Rebellion of 1837. Some, of the modern legend, of Bunyan as a giant lumberjack with
a giant blue ox sidekick, was recreated in 1916, when, as part of an
advertising campaign for a logging company, advertisement, writer William Laughead reworked the old
logging tales thereby making Paul Bunyan a truly North American folklore
character but the red-and-black "BUFFALO .”(there are
not and never have been, wild buffalo in
any of the Americas) PLAID
SHIRT” (as many of those living in the United States of the Americas and

MacGregor tartan/plaid shirt and of Scottish and not “New World” origin.
